Mirani (the region between Rockhampton and Mackay) has been won by LNP from One Nation

Backwards and Forwards: West Ipswich seat was won by Labour in 2020. Its member, Jim Madden, resigned his seat in January 2024 to run for Ipswich City Council. In the resulting by-election the seat was won by the LNP candidate Darren Zanow, with a 17.9% swing. Following the by-election, Zanow was diagnosed with incurable brain disease, on 16 April 2024 – the day he was formally sworn into parliament. He made his diagnosis public on 12 July announcing he would not contest the 2024 Queensland state election in October. The seat has been reclaimed by Labour (Wendy Bourne).

While still in doubt, South Brisbane appears to have been reclaimed by Labour (with LNP preferences) from the Greens.

Preference Allocations
First, all of the number '1' votes are counted for each candidate. If a candidate gets more than half the total first preference votes, that candidate will be elected.
If no candidate has more than half of the votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is excluded. This candidate's votes are transferred to the other candidates according to the second preferences of voters on the ballot papers for the excluded candidate. If still no candidate has more than half the votes, the candidate who now has the fewest votes is excluded and the votes are transferred according to the next preference shown. This process continues until one candidate has more than half the total number of formal votes and is elected.
